Paris Twinkled and Breezed Through the Highland Park Village Last Night

Despite a Texas gust of wind, the Highland Park Village took on all the appearances of a small side street in the Latin Quarter for “An Evening in Paris!” benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Somebody (must have been Ray Washburne himself) made sure that every single itty-bitty, white light on the Village trees was sparkling. The place just down right glowed with elegance.
We’re not going to deny that it was a bit cool, but it brought out an abundance of boots, wraps, and gear that begged to be let out of the closet. And what a great excuse to go into the tents for the silent auction! Also, those toasty, street-light-styled heaters prominently placed throughout the area almost made you want to make smores.
The crowd was already a crowd when the party started at 6:30. Too bad Who’s Who Burgers didn’t open their booth until around 7-ish. Not to worry–there were plenty of other booths ready to deliver the goods to the crowd.
And what would any self-respecting street in Paris be without a caricaturist? Our man Ben Vincent’s (pictured in the hat) cheaper than a face lift and more fun.
